We already mapped your first day

We've built you the Walt Disney World week that locals wish they'd had on their first trip — one headliner park a day, rope-drop the rides that matter, and a real rest beat before the fireworks. You'll hit the big four, ride the stuff that books up by 9am, and still have an afternoon by the pool. Trust the order; it's the difference between magic and meltdown.

Day 1: Magic Kingdom — Rope Drop the Mountains

Your headliner day. Get in before the crowds, knock out the rides that hit 90-minute waits by lunch, then pace yourself to fireworks.

  1. 7:15 AM

Early breakfast + resort bus to the gate

Grab a quick bite at your resort food court and catch the bus 75 minutes before park open. Being at the tap stiles when the rope drops is worth more than any paid skip-the-line.

  2. 8:30 AM

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at rope drop

The one ride that's a walk-on only first thing or after fireworks. Walk straight to Fantasyland and ride it before the park fills in.

  3. 9:15 AM

    Peter Pan's Flight + Haunted Mansion back-to-back

Two classics that balloon to 60+ minute waits later. Knock them out now while the lines are still short and the morning's cool.

  4. 11:30 AM

Lunch at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn

The build-your-own-nachos and fajita platters here are the best counter-service value in the park, and the toppings bar is legendary. Beat the noon rush by sitting down at 11:30.
